"Immigrants in our own Land"

honestly i really enjoyed this poem. I usually only like poems that have a patter to them or that rhyme. but this poem got my attention. The poem tells a story. This is what i got from the poem. People are going into another land to have better life and seek for better instead of worse. When they get here they are told that they are going to be put to work. they are dont get the chances that they said they would. the other thing that got my attention was when they said that many dont make it out the same. i was like whaaaaaaaa. I was confused if weather or not they went to like a work camp. all in all this poem was really good and i cant wait to see what my classmates have to say about it.

Speech!

* crowd chanting " speech speech speech speech"*

Alright! alright! y'all say you came for a speech but we all know you are here for the free food! You're getting a speech anyways..... So listen up.. I have something to say so please take a seat we can do a toast at the end. I just want to talk about a sensitive topic that all of us need to understand! All of you here today can make a difference in the world, i know that you hear this every day but its true. the way learned to see it is by reading "The sound of Thunder" In the story one man by killing a butterfly from the past changed who became president in the present. This all just comes to show the big impact that you all make in this world. For example you! *points at random person in crowd* if you would not have come to this party you would have stayed at home. You would have ordered a pizza. the person making the pizza was on a 16 hour shift therefore not realizing what they were doing anymore. therefore putting rat poison inside your pizza. You see i saved your life and the mans job. Every little thing changes a lot. We have all spent time in this room canceling out all the other variables as if we were outside. we all make a huge difference to the world. I also read in an Essay, great essay by the way. The essay was by a man named emerson, it was  about self reliance. The reason of why im speaking about this is that in the essay they talk about being yourself. Doesn't that affect what you do, therefore affecting the future? crazy things am i right? i have personally been through this. i was playing basketball and a lot of people came in the gym and started shooting.. so i was going to leave because i knew that i was no good compared to them, but as i was leaving someone said "wanna play" at that moment it could have gone 2 ways. i could have said yes or i could have said no. If i would have said no i would have never made such close friends therefore being a boring lonely person. kind of like i am today but that's not the point! the point is that everything you do now can change not just yours, but everyones future..... Now lets toast for how important we are to this world! Cheers!!

MY MAD DREAM OF AN ESSAY

Remember that time you ate that spicy tomato just before you went to bed on the night before the big silence convention?  Oh, that weird dream you had about the 2016 presidential election.  When you woke up you couldn't quite remember the horrible details, but after reading "On Self-Reliance" and "A Sound of Thunder" it's all coming back to you now.

The dream started badly.  You were in line with your family at an office  waiting to be sent to high school.  Everywhere you looked there were posters of president-elect Recog Nition, looking like a crazy squirrel who could eat a whole 5 dollar special from Popeyes.

Suddenly, there was Ralph Waldo Emerson telling you,  "Society is a wave. The wave moves onward but the water of which it is composed does not"   You realized that you have something to contribute to the world so you decided to try.  But it wasn't easy.  First you had to put on a fancy clown suit and afro wig and then you had make a balloon animal to go back in time to the white house  so you could convince people to learn about the candidates and the [political issue you care about most].

But right there in the White House there was a giant Turtle and it started  yelling at everyone.  People started to cry.  You grabbed a megaphone from a nearby megaphone shop and yelled "If people cant see air, does that mean fish cant see water?" Everyone stopped and listened, so you kept going.

Ahhhhhhhhhh what is this garbage that i just wrote! haha

Emerson Presentation Notes

today i saw a lot of good material. really inspiring to better my project #WorkinHard. I want to start off with lesley, Her presentation was pure gold. I know she didn't agree with him, but she showed some great example and comparisons. i also liked cesars idea of how to be a genius. The whole donald trump thing really made me think about how someone so stupid can be such a genius in his own special way (hope no one gets offended) but yeah thats what i got from todays presentation................. still need to finish mine smh

MY EMERSON

For the Emerson project i want to do a CD case, but the problem is i don't know how to make that an outstanding A++ project. (Just now Dr. Preston mentioned that we should present in a way where the audience will remember what we said) How in the world can i make a CD case memorable!!!!! ( I already have doubts about this ugh!!) .............. But then a quote collage sounds fun... and the same problem with this one  i do not know how to make it an A++ assignment this is so sad..... I am going to have a rough weekend that's for sure.

EMERSON SAID IT

Well I really enjoyed reading this well most of it..... anyways.... here are the quotes that i found interesting and depending on time i'l see if i do explanation of why i liked the chosen quote.
1. "Ne te quaesiveris extra" which obviously means do no seek for things outside of you. This really hit me at the beginning. It was motivation on the spot, i really liked it.
2. " Nothing can bring you peace but yourself" this one is really true. to me it basically says that i choose how i am. i choose who i am. no one can choose for me. That is how i see this quote (i would like to here from whoever is reading this.)
3. "Every heart vibrates to that iron string" to me this means that everyone is there own sound. everyone is different in their own way. thats what i got from this quote.

the quotes above were heard in class the next two were the ones that i personally picked out.

4. "Society is a wave. The wave moves onward but the water of which it is composed does not" This quote got me interested in thinking for once. This quote is very true, but i can not explain why (i feel so distracted right now)
5. " The other terror that scares us from self trust is out consistency: a reverence for our past act or word" this one i can relate to because i a wuss to do certain things because i am afraid of failure. I also think about the outcomes of the past before i do something and if it was a bad outcome i just wont do it...

well thats all fo-fo-fo-lk-lks

TEAM VOCAB

This presidential election has transformed into a battle, with venomous attacks from both aggravating parties. Hillary has remained stolid, and I personally wanna punch Trump in the proboscis. His supporters have slowly dissolved and the ones who have remained are hypnotized into believing America will be great again. This is a melancholy moment in American history because soon one of these candidates will be president. I earnestly believe that neither candidate should be eligible for office.

TODAY I'M A GOOD HUMAN

Hmmmmm this title just makes me think.. what is the definition of a good human? Is there a limit  to being a good human? is being a good human picking up trash and disposing of it properly  or saving a kitten from a burning building. I don't truly know the answers to this, but some day i hope someone clarifies it for me. Im not a good human that i know, i do my part but i feel like its not enough... idk i just had to throw that in there... Anyways well yea :)

A HUG IS NEARLY A GUN SPELLED BACKWARD

I believe that a personal relations are a lot more important than causes or patriotism. This is because it builds a stronger base for anything in life. I understand that patriotism brings a nation together, but only for a day. That is why i believe that personal relations are better. They develop over time and takes dedication. This is something that truly matters. I am not saying there is anything wrong with patriotism i just feel like personal relations have many more  benefits. With personal relations you could trust each other. You can go to them for comfort and support. Unlike patriotism where only care about the country not others. Personal relations create trust in one another, they create something that is really hard to explain.

DP i am honestly out of ideas of what to say :/

MISTAKES FOR PRESIDENT

Really DP?  You made me watch this? Well i saw way more than 15 minutes of this, because Trump and Hillary crack me up. It shows me that i will be able to argue like a kid even when i become an adult. When watching this i noticed that Donald Trump would always interrupt Hillary about anything. His most used words were "China, I have property there, Hillarys emails, losing jobs"
He kept coming back to the 20 trillion dollar debt. Don't get me started on Hillary... she was just talking about plans plans and how her plans would work. She talked about trumps taxes... both weren't even talking about the questions of the debate. That  is all i noticed from the horrible 30 minutes of the debate that i saw.

BAD WORDS

Let me start off by saying oops. i feel like using bad words could be used to anyone's advantage. for example if i want to get a groups attention ill say "hey guys".... there is a slight chance no one will care, but if i say "F**K!!!" everyone will focus the attention on me. I don't know why bad words are labeled bad words. I don't know why they are bad, they are just letters with a meaning to it just like any other. Its discrimination of words if you ask me. when did the word @$$ become bad? it is just a body part like "butt" only different letters, but they MEAN THE SAME DAMN THING!!!!!!! #TRIGGERED I feel like people could communicate better when using rude and vulgar language. i believe this because i cant walk around school without hearing a bad word every 3 to 5 seconds its just so crazy. I know i didn't write much and its because i don't have much to say. In conclusion i feel like bad words are more of a blessing for when you want to feel like a rebel.
here is a list of bad words 2016- ***,****,*****,***,*****..... and so many more

Never Always Sometimes by Adi Alsaid Literature Analysis #1

1)the plot is, it took place in Morro Bay California. Most of the book was about two kids in high school (Dave and Julia)

2)This incoming high school best friends decide to make rules before entering high school about how they were not going to change. One of the rules was that they wouldn't fall for each other... That didn't work out so well because the boy has liked her way before the rules were created. on the senior year they decided to do everything that the rules said not to. They found out that they missed a lot of fun in school.

3)i feel like the author Adi Alsaid wakes up in the morning and lays there for a couple minutes and thinks of what to do for that day. Then he gets up with a smile on his face and makes himself a nice delicious breakfast. then he goes to shower and brush his teeth. After he just sits on the couch and watches tv. He is still thinking (probably about high school) about things. He probably goes for a run once in a while but not so often. That is probably how he spends his mornings.

Satire Project

                                               Burn the shirt!!!!!!!!!

Burn the shirt. Over react that is the American way. Kaepernic sat down during the national anthem (didn't participate) and everyone went crazy!!! they are hating on him for that by like i said before, burning his jersey. That got me thinking.... we should make it a law that whenever someone doesn't participate in a song in america then they should be exiled forever. hear me out, For example  if a preschooler decides not to participate and sing along in class then he should be expelled. not just expelled, but they should burn all his toys as well!!!! Another would be if you are at a birthday party and it is time to sing happy birthday. An uncle decides not to participate then he is automatically cut from the family tree and abandoned for ever. This law will be revolutionary since everyone cares about one damn person that sat down for a song.  this comes to show how some people are dumb enough to burn an 80 dollar shirt just for the fun of it. People now a days take the most drastic measures for something so small.

Sorry DP I tried I really did... my brain is just blahhhh

A Modest Proposal

well first off...... Children for food!!!!!!!!!!! what in the world!!Selling children parts for money. That is just sick. Sorry just had to get this out of the way. This meets the criteria of satire in the following ways, the writer acts like the babies are crops or fruits. He says when it is best to eat them and how to eat them. He is acting like its normal to talk about eating children. (I mean i guess its okay the limit is 14 years of age *sarcasm*) all in all this is just about the reasons of why people should eat or sell the meat of their children. The Satire in this, is the tone of what the speaker said. It was like having a normal conversation about the weather or something.

My Big Question

My big question is........ Is anything really worth taking risks for?

EVERYTHING'S AMAZING

This was one funny video that i enjoyed. (watched it 4 times) I don't know what the homework is... to name the "elements" I'm not sure of what it means, but here I go. An element used in the video was humor, the speaker really reached out to everyone and made them laugh. The funnier part was that he was insulting the generation of today. I got shocked when here used such words to describe us, but the comedy made up for it all. That's about i can say about this video.( For me, this video was motivational, because I want to become a comedian when i grow up... not as my main job but as a hobby)

The Laughing Heart by Charles Bukowski

Well this the best that I could. I tried I really did. I hired a camera man but he bailed on last minute. My make up guy got sick so I'm sorry for everyone watching this.... haha props to Angel Maceda for recording and directing this whole Video.

Satire videos

Example #1: This is one the funniest videos that I have seen in the past hour. (I watch a lot of videos on a daily basis) Well this video shows the stereotypes that there are about Hilary Clinton. It is just plain hilarious. There is another one about Donald Trump, but I feel like it's a little much for this blog.....
Example #2: Oh My Goodness this video speaks nothing but the truth. TBH i got a little motivated by this video, it's still pretty funny. It is an example of satire because it is humorous. it also kind of criticizes people that make these type of motivational videos.

Example #3:  This video is an example of satire because it mocks Americans about how they are during the Olympics. It is also of course hilarious, because i can relate.

I can post a lot more videos, but i feel like 3 is enough. :)

The laughing heart

This was a positive and motivational poem. What I got out of it was that darkness represented all the bad times in life, all the negative things. The light represented positiveness and optimism. The main message in this poem was that if you are optimistic then things will be fine. This poem also life and death, is says that we should make the best of life now that we have it because who knows what will happen. I really enjoyed this poem and the meaning that it had to it.

"The right to your opinion"

The moment I clicked on the reading I panicked, not going to lie.
Why you ask?
Here is a little secret.... I don't enjoy reading, but this was a very very interesting topic. My thoughts on this were really tangled. i had a hard time understanding, here is what i got out of it.
Saying that you have the right to your opinion is like a plan b after you find your that your opinion is incorrect. It's used as a last resource in a debate/argument. What really interested me was "the rights and duties", because it was so mind blowing to see how it worked. It's cool how it all ties together in how someones rights create duties for others. This is the article I read  https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B4N6VdfN_pCKYUt6ZkxFSHc0S3c/view

Introduction

Well this is it, my very first blog. i usually try to make a first good impression, but technology is never on my side. I'll just say this.... Welcome to Angel's blog! lamest title ever I get, but I don't know how to change it. I'll probably learn in the future hopefully.
